➀ Overview
It's 2020. Everyone remembers. In response to the pandemic and lockdown, I used photography as a medium to channel my creative flow. I shared these daily photographs on Instagram and Facebook, creating an open diary of my thoughts and feelings. After the pandemic, I compiled the work into a photobook.
➁ GOAL
My goal was not only to document this period from a personal perspective, but also to create a space for others to connect with these feelings, fostering a shared reflection on our collective experience. Many resonated with the photographs, thus the project became a channel of communication between myself and the audience during a time of isolation.
➂ APPROACH
I used everyday objects as visual metaphors, with self-portraiture as the primary medium. I worked with colors, shapes, and simple materials like cloth. My aim was to challenge the notion that meaningful work requires extensive resources, emphasising the power of simplicity in creative expression.
